Fine motor skills involve the arms, hands and fingers in tasks that require hand/eye coordination, planning and bilateral integration skills in order to perform tasks of daily living.

Activities that require or develop fine motor skills in a child include managing fastenings (for example undoing buttons), writing or using scissors.
